RENTAL TERMS & CONDITIONS
Reservations
All reservations are made according to the vehicle category and not for a specific model. In case of unavailability of a vehicle of the category pre-selected by the customer, always with regard to a confirmed reservation, Sunset Rentals reserves the right to provide the customer with a car of a higher category, at no charge to the customer.
Driving license:
A valid driving license for the Greek territory and the EU, issued at least 2 years before the start date of the rental, is required. Citizens of countries outside the EU are required to have a valid international driving license, along with the presentation of their national driving license.
Driver: Minimum age limit of 23 years for the use of cars of all categories, under 23 years of age, rentals will be made after telephone communication during the reservation and subject to conditions.
Late return:
You must return the rental car to the designated location and on the date and time stated in the rental contract.
In case of delay, there will be a charge of 7€ to 13€ / per hour depending on the vehicle category.
Vehicle pickup/drop-off is done at central points such as Serifos port, or at the accommodation you are staying at free of charge upon prior arrangement.

Vehicle insurance policy
BASIC INSURANCE: (CDW):
Our company provides free insurance on all our vehicles with the following coverages:
Third Party Liability for bodily injury
Third Party Liability for material damage
Driver personal accident
Material damage from an uninsured vehicle.
Total theft
Partial theft
Fire
Natural phenomena
Glass breakage
FULL INSURANCE: (FDW):
Full insurance is provided (Basic + damages caused to the vehicle itself in case of fault of the renter) upon a financial guarantee either by cash or by credit card, with an additional charge of 12€/day and 700€ guarantee) depending on the vehicle category). For categories and detailed information, please call our service phone number.
No insurance coverage is valid:
during the transport of the vehicle by ship
if it is determined that the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs
for damages caused by driving on unpaved roads (e.g. dirt roads leading to the beach or roads outside the road network).
for damage to the underside of the vehicle, rims, hubcaps, tires, mirrors, antenna, lights and interior
for loss of personal belongings inside the vehicle
for accidents caused by a driver not declared in the rental contract
for loss or destruction of the vehicle key
for loss or destruction of devices, child seats.
*The cost of damage is the responsibility of the lessee.
**IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, THE CUSTOMER IS OBLIGED, REGARDLESS OF HIS LIABILITY, TO COMPLETE THE ACCIDENT STATEMENT, IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE K70 OF THE GREEK LEGISLATION.
Administrative costs
In the event of an accident or damage to the vehicle caused by the renter, there is a non-refundable fee of €50.00.
In the event that the damage is not repaired within the island, the renter is obliged to pay the costs of moving the vehicle (freight)
Company policy – General framework (fuel policy, mileage, etc.)
Fuel:
The renter must return the car with the same amount of fuel as received. In the event that the car is returned with a smaller amount of fuel than the original, the customer is charged for the difference in fuel. No compensation is provided for the customer if the car is returned with a larger amount of fuel than received.
Kilometers:
Our company provides free unlimited kilometers.
Child seat:
There is no charge for a child seat. The renter will request a child seat at least 2 days before the rental date for the best service and for availability reasons.
Cancellations
The cancellation of the reservation must be made at least 10 days before the scheduled date and time of the rental of the vehicle.
If you wish to cancel a reservation, you will contact our company by phone or e-mail.
The following charges will apply to cancellations of reservations:
In case of cancellation notice at least 10 days before the scheduled start of the rental of the vehicle, the entire deposit will be refunded.
In case of cancellation notice less than 10 days before the scheduled start of the rental of the vehicle, the deposit will not be refunded.
Car transport outside the island of Serifos:
It will be allowed only after consultation between the owner and the Renter.
Car transport across borders:

Traffic violations – Fines:
The summonses and fines resulting from violations of the Highway Code are borne by the Renter.
The Renter assumes full responsibility for any traffic violations and is obliged to pay any debts to the competent services.
Otherwise, the amount of the violation will be charged plus the amount referred to as “Administrative costs”

Encryption is a way of encoding information until it reaches its intended recipient, who will be able to decode it using the appropriate key.
